VECCHIO MAGAZZINO AMARO IMPORTANTE

An amaro from Calabria with a fun history, named after a shipwrecked American captain named Jefferson who became a beloved personality of the small town that took he and his crew into their village. In fact, in Italy, the amaro is called "Jefferson Amaro." However, unfortunately, "Jefferson" is a popular American name attached to businesses that will remain unnamed, but which took issue with this product entering the American market with the name. 

The recipe draws on wild citrus and coastal herbs: bitter orange, bergamot, rosemary, oregano, chamomile, and botanicals harvested from the Tyrrhenian shoreline. The result is a bright, Mediterranean amaro with vivid citrus, aromatic herbs, and a polished, lingering bitterness. It is modern in conception but deeply tied to Calabria’s landscapes, with a clean, sun-washed profile that sets it apart from northern Italian styles.
